Medico supports the realisation of social and political human rights within global networks. States and other global actors can only be forced to abide by laws and ensure human rights through a global agreement.
Examples that show within which networks medico supports the international safety of those being excluded are:
The International Campaign to Ban Landmines, which not only enforced the prohibition of the production and usage of antipersonnel mines in an intergovernmental agreement, but also the commitment of rehabilitation for war victims.
The International Apartheid Debt and Reparations Campaign, which tries to make the global profiteers of the racist apartheid system legally accountable.
The People’s Health Movement, which promotes the right of health for all within the framework of the World Social Forum and under discussion of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
